Clear Tent Luxury Wedding | Excelsior, MN Libby & Austin
Libby and Austin are my people… They are the kindest, most wonderful clients I have ever had. From the very beginning, they handed me complete trust and creative freedom, allowing me to design florals that truly reflected their style, their story, and the elevated experience they wanted for their guests.
We blended Libby’s more modern style with my tendencies towards garden style and make the most beautiful flower baby. The result was a refined, romantic floral design rooted in movement, intentionality, and premium blooms sourced from some of the best growers.
Floral design played a major role in transforming their celebration at Austin’s family home on Lake Minnetonka in Excelsior. Every floral element was crafted to feel immersive, impactful, and elevated—the perfect setting for a luxury wedding experience.
Inside the clear-top tent, we created four large-scale hanging floral installations, each one designed to add depth, drama, and softness to the open-air space. These floating clouds of blooms helped define the room while still keeping everything airy and romantic—a signature look for modern luxury weddings. Circular pieces hung above the guest tables, while a large 10x10 square structure framed the white and light wood checkered dance floor.
The first thing guests saw upon entering the tent was a breathtaking bar floral chandelier, spilling with premium blooms in creams, blushes, and greens. This piece was intentionally dramatic—a statement moment that set the tone for the entire evening and served as one of the most photographed design elements.
For the ceremony, we designed a lush aisle meadow paired with a grand pillar arch. The meadow brought an organic, garden-like feel to the walkway, while the tall arch framed the couple beautifully without feeling heavy or traditional.
With Chowgirls serving a family-style dinner, we wanted to keep the tables refined and uncluttered while still feeling romantic and curated. On the Sloane tables from Collected & Co., we designed modern ikebana designs accented with stone and layered candlelight. On the round tables, we kept things soft and simple with small low-lush centerpieces paired with ivory taper candles in marble holders. The combination allowed for an elevated tablescape that felt intentional, warm, and welcoming—without overwhelming the dining experience.
What made this wedding special wasn’t just the flowers—it was the trust. When couples give me creative space, I’m able to design floral installations and full wedding environments that feel truly bespoke. Libby and Austin’s day is a beautiful example of what can happen when vision meets expertise and clients are willing to collaborate with their florist.
This post wouldn’t be complete without an incredible shoutout to Amanda Nippoldt Photography. She captured this day so perfectly and I am grateful every time I get to work with her.
