La Pointe Events | Ever Weddings | Loui Photography
There’s something truly special about designing flowers in a space that already feels like a storybook—and La Pointe in Somerset, Wisconsin is exactly that kind of place.
Last summer, I had the chance to design florals for a styled shoot at La Pointe Events, alongside two creatives I deeply admire: Meg from The Loui Photography and Jess from Ever Weddings. From start to finish, the day was filled with collaboration, intention, and a whole lot of magic.
La Pointe is situated on a gentle bend in the Apple River, and the setting alone feels calm, romantic, and incredibly picturesque. The way the water curves around the property creates this natural sense of movement and softness—perfect for couples who want their wedding to feel grounded in nature while still being elevated and thoughtfully designed.
As a florist, I always pay attention to how a venue “feels,” not just how it looks. La Pointe is the kind of space that invites creativity. The natural landscape does so much of the work for you, which allows the design—florals, linens, and details—to complement rather than compete with the surroundings. It’s an ideal venue for couples planning a La Pointe wedding who want something timeless, romantic, and connected to the outdoors.
For this styled shoot, my goal was to create florals that felt organic and intentional—designs that echoed the flow of the river and the softness of the landscape. When a venue is this beautiful, florals don’t need to shout. Instead, they should enhance the mood and draw your eye exactly where it needs to go. Jess envisioned romantic vintage details contrasted with more modern floral designs. Mono bloom designs focused on scale and shape vs variation and detail.
One of the best parts of this day was getting to work alongside Jess from Ever Weddings. Jess is one of those planners whose talent sets the bar higher every time. Her attention to detail, her calm presence, and her ability to turn an idea into something that feels effortless is exactly the level of artistry I aspire to. Truly—everything she touches turns to magic.
And then there’s Meg from The Loui Photography. I’ve worked with Meg enough to know that every time we work together, she gives the work her absolute all. She has an incredible eye for capturing not just how something looks, but how it feels. I trust her completely to document the scene with care, intention, and artistry—and she delivered, as always.
If you’re a couple considering getting married at La Pointe Events, or if you’re looking to work with vendors who value collaboration and thoughtful design, this shoot is a perfect example of what’s possible. When the venue, planner, photographer, and florist are aligned, the result feels seamless—and that’s what creates a truly memorable wedding experience.
La Pointe is a venue I would absolutely love to work at again, and collaborating with creatives like Jess and Meg is always a reminder of why I love this work so much.
