There’s something incredibly romantic about a September wedding in Minnesota—the crisp air, golden light, and, in this case, a vineyard backdrop that felt straight out of Tuscany. Kat and Tommy’s celebration at Rustic Roots Winery was a perfect blend of European charm and Midwest soul, and we were thrilled to bring their floral vision to life.

Vineyard Romance with a Moody Twist

Tucked away in Scandia, MN, Rustic Roots Winery is known for its rolling hills, vineyard views, and natural elegance. Kat and Tommy wanted their wedding to evoke the soulful beauty of Tuscany, but with a moodier, more dramatic twist. Think deep wine tones, touches of cream, and whispers of soft blue woven throughout.

To reflect that, we designed with a curated mix of textures and tones—rich, layered, and full of movement. Their palette was both bold and romantic, capturing the essence of fall without leaning too traditional.

Ceremony Florals with Old World Character

The ceremony took place in the heart of the vineyard, framed by a wooden arch adorned with smokebush, antique hydrangea, and grasses. The design was wild but elegant, asymmetrical and free-flowing—exactly what Kat envisioned for a floral moment that felt gathered from nature, not forced into structure.

Guests were welcomed by loose, organic aisle arrangements in moody tones, accented by foxglove, lisianthus, and sedum—some of our favorite fall blooms for a dramatic yet romantic look.

The Bouquet: Garden-Style With Edge

Kat’s bouquet was a lush, garden-style arrangement bursting with creme brulee phlox, lace cap hydrangea, and clematis, balanced with roseanne brown lisianthus and textural accents like lunaria and grasses. We kept the shape loose and natural, letting the blooms speak for themselves.

Al Fresco Reception with European Flair

Dinner was hosted under bistro lights and a soft September sky. We repurposed aisle florals at the guest tables, along with bud vases and fruit, with hints of cream and burgundy dancing through the candlelight.
